Are we though or are we all just winging it???
From the moment you see those 2 amazing pink lines on the pregnancy test are you suppose to know what you are doing!!
How much rest you should have, what to eat, what to drink, the size of your bump, to exercise or not???
and then when baby arrives.... Baby is too big/small, your not breast feeding right, your not breast feeding at all, they are hot, they are cold, sleep train, don't sleep train??
It is all SO confusing and a lot of pressure!!!!!
There are so many critics out there saying what a 'Perfect' parent is they even made a T.V series about it!!! but is there really such a thing??
My opinion is HELL NO!!!!!
There is no such thing!! We are all just out here trying to survive on minimum sleep, have patients with all the changes babies go through and love them whole heartily.
Here are a couple of questions you should ask yourself........
Is your baby fed and putting on weight??
Are they sleeping (as much as a baby does)
Are you clean??
Are they healthy?
Are they happy??
Then Congratulations you are doing an amazing job!!!!
When I fell pregnant with our first daughter, I was quiet worried about the type of parent I would be!! I hadn't been around that many babies growing up so I knew nothing, not even how to change a nappy!! People starting telling me what kind of parent I "should' be and all the things I had to look forward to (not good things) and I didn't think I could live up to the challenge!!
Then I held Indy in my arms and I knew I had to conquer any obstacle that got in my way to give this beautiful little gift the best start in life possible.
I'm not going to lie, ITS HARD!!! parenting is SO HARD!!! there are so many challenging days but it is also so rewarding and worth it. A lot of us even go back and do it all over again.
Something that works for someone else might not work for you, so I believe it is important to listen to all the advice but use your initiative and only take snippets of works best for you and your family!!
Hang in there, Nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes but just tell yourself that you are doing the best job that YOU can do for your family!!
