BABY MOON, YES OR NO?

Baby moon: a relaxing or romantic holiday taken by parents-to-be before their baby is born.

WHEN TO TAKE A BABY MOON:

Whether you are having your first baby or on to the third it is a great opportunity to take a break before your newborn baby adds to the chaos of life.

Depending on how you are feeling, the 2nd trimester is a great time to take off on a mini get away. You can still fly, if you are planning on doing so, You have usually overcome the nauseous stage of your first trimester, you are still comfortable enough to move around and enjoy whatever activities you have in mind and there will be no unexpected guest arriving early trying to join in on the fun.

WHERE TO GO:

The great thing about a baby moon is it can be whatever type of break you want it to be!!

A weekend getaway close to home or an elaborate trip to somewhere you have always wanted to visit!!

Always make sure you consult your doctor before you fly or if there is anything or anywhere they recommend you avoid to stay healthy!!

I am based in Australia so some recommendations that are not too far away would be:

Port Douglas, Rainbow beach, Tangalooma Island resort, Stradbroke Island, Sunshine coast, The Cali Brisbane city, Gold coast, Melbourne, Sydney, Hobart, Tazzie, N.Z- Queenstown, Wanaka, Fiji, Rarotonga

WHAT DO YOU DO ON A BABYMOON?

Not to put a damper on your newborn but once baby comes life can get a little more hectic and you might not be able to get away for a while so this gives you and your partner a perfect opportunity for some quality time together or if you already have other children, then quality family time!!

Whether it’s lying on the beach, enticing spa treatments, curling up with a book by the fireplace or exploring a new city, all new parents to be want to do is relax and have the opportunity to spend time with their partner/family before their lives change forever.

STAY HOME:

If a babymoon is not for you, or you just don't get the time, then just make sure you take a couple of long weekends or an extra week maternity leave to nest and relax before baby arrives!!

I didn't get the chance to have a baby moon with either of our girls because we where moving with our first baby girl and renovating with our second baby girl but I still took the time to,

-Design and decorate my babies nursery.

-I find cleaning quite therapeutic (I know, I know weirdo) but I did a thorough clean of our house to prepare for our newborn and for visitors that wanted to welcome them

-Get in for all your appointments, get your hair done, waxing, pedicure anything you need to feel good before baby comes

- If you want to be really organized then pick a day and do a big cook to have some meals in the freezer so if you have a really bad day then at least that will be one less thing to think about.

YES OR NO??

There is no right answer to this question, it is an individual decision whether you have the time and or money to take off before baby comes!!

I think if you can, then go for it!! it would be a refreshing time together before your newborn arrives!!

I hope this cleared up some of your questions
