WHAT IS SWADDLING:
Swaddling is an ancient practice of wrapping your baby in a cocoon to help them feel safe and secure. We swaddle our babies to avoid the sudden startle reflex of their arms and head that swiftly snaps them awake undoing all the hard work you have done to put them to sleep in the first place.
A swaddle can help your baby adjust to the outside world by providing security and familiarity
WHICH SWADDLE TO USE?
We at Fluf have come up with on of the worlds softest fabrics and crafted it into a completely functional easy to use swaddle.
Our swaddles have the perfect amount of stretch to make wrapping your babies up tight a breeze for any new parent while the flexibility will have your baby feeling like they are back in the womb
IS SWADDLING FOR EVERY BABY?
Absolutely not, all babies are different and unique which means they all like different things. Some like to sleep snuggled up with all their limbs nice and secure just like in the womb, while others like the freedom of sleeping with their arms out. For these babies I suggest something like Fluf gifts Knotted baby gown.
WHAT AGE DO YOU STOP SWADDLING?
Again every baby is different and you will get to know your baby pretty quick and what they like and dislike so just take cues from them!
As a general rule though, you should try ditch the swaddle when you notice your little one becoming more active and wanting to roll.
This can happen as early as 2-3 months for some babies and then the wrap can prevent them from practicing age-appropriate motor skills that could be bad for their development.
For our girls we had them in an age appropriate sleeping sack and slowly transitioned their arms out as they got older and gave me the cues to do so.
WILL MY BABY SLEEP WITHOUT A SWADDLE
It’s understandable that you might worry your baby won’t sleep as well without his/her swaddle. But rest assured, even if your baby initially has a tough time transitioning, they will eventually get used to it.
Don't give up!!!
